Support for the Person Behind the Profession

Whether you work in the cockpit, cabin, control tower, or on the ground, your needs extend beyond your professional role. Therapy offers space to talk through difficult experiences, build practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful changes.

We welcome:

  • Commercial, cargo, corporate, and private pilots
  • Flight attendants and cabin crew
  • Air traffic controllers
  • Aircraft maintenance and ground operations professionals
  • Aviation students and professionals navigating career transitions
  • Partners and family members affected by the demands of aviation work

At Nowlogy®, we take a collaborative approach to care. Your doctor will work with you to understand what is happening, identify your priorities, and develop strategies that fit your life.

Serving Aviation Communities Around Houston and MSP

Our practices serve the greater Houston and Minneapolis–Saint Paul communities, including professionals who live or work around the regions’ airports.

We offer in-person appointments at our Minnesota and Texas locations, along with online therapy for eligible clients physically located in those states at the time of their appointment. Our team can help you explore provider availability and find a location or appointment format that works for you.

Psychological First Aid for Aviation Teams

When a distressing event affects your workforce, compassionate support can help employees navigate the immediate aftermath. Nowlogy® welcomes inquiries from aviation HR teams, organizational leaders, and employee support programs seeking Psychological First Aid following critical incidents, workplace losses, or other difficult events.

Psychological First Aid focuses on immediate emotional and practical needs. It offers a supportive approach that respects each person’s experience, without pressuring employees to discuss what happened or share more than they feel comfortable sharing.

Support for Employees and Your Organization

Depending on your team’s needs and service availability, support may focus on:

  • Helping employees feel heard, supported, and connected
  • Offering practical strategies for managing immediate stress
  • Identifying immediate needs and available resources
  • Providing education about common reactions to distressing events
  • Connecting employees with ongoing mental health care when appropriate
  • Coordinating with HR and existing employee support programs while respecting employee privacy

Psychological First Aid provides initial support; employees who need further care may benefit from individual therapy or other services.

Coordinate Support for Your Team

Whether your organization is responding to a recent event or planning ahead, contact Nowlogy® to discuss your workforce’s needs. We can explore service availability, delivery options, and how support could fit within your organization’s response plan.

FAA Evaluations

Navigating FAA medical certification requirements can feel complicated. Nowlogy® welcomes inquiries from pilots and aviation professionals seeking psychological assessments or clinical documentation requested by the FAA or an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).

Anxiety, Depression, and Related Conditions

Some individuals with a history of uncomplicated anxiety, depression, or related conditions may qualify for an FAA streamlined or Fast Track pathway. Eligibility depends on specific requirements involving diagnoses, treatment history, medication use, and other clinical factors.

Our team can review your assessment or documentation needs and discuss whether our services are appropriate for the pathway identified by your AME.

Formal Psychological Evaluations

If the FAA or your AME requests a formal psychological evaluation, contact us to discuss the requirements before scheduling. Depending on the request, an evaluation may include a review of relevant records, a clinical interview, psychological testing, and a written report.

Please share any FAA correspondence or AME instructions so we can confirm the appropriate provider and scope of services.

FAA medical certification decisions remain with the FAA and authorized AMEs. An assessment does not guarantee certification or a particular processing timeline.

Frequently Asked Questoins (FAQ's)

No. You can contact us because you are feeling stressed, facing a difficult transition, or looking for support. Your first appointment includes an assessment of your concerns and a discussion of appropriate care.

Online therapy is available for eligible clients in Minnesota and Texas. Because aviation professionals often travel, let your provider know where you will be physically located for each appointment so they can confirm whether a session is possible.

We take your privacy seriously. Your provider will explain how your information is protected, the limits of confidentiality, and how requests for records are handled. You are welcome to discuss privacy questions before beginning care.

FAA medical certification requirements depend on your circumstances. If your role requires medical certification, discuss questions about reporting, documentation, or eligibility with your Aviation Medical Examiner (AME). Nowlogy® cannot guarantee a particular certification outcome.

We accept a variety of insurance plans, and self-pay options are available. We do not take Employee Assistance Programs (EAP’s). Coverage varies by provider, location, and service. Our team can help you check whether a provider participates in your plan.

Providing Expert and Quality Care

Why seek help from a psychologist rather than some other type of therapist?
  • Psychologists are among the most rigorously trained mental health professionals. Psychologists complete doctorate level coursework, several years of clinical rotations/practicums, a year long predoctoral internship, & a year long postdoctoral fellowship.
  • In addition to having the highest level of training, psychologists are licensed to complete psychological assessments (often with comparative normative data to help you understand and target a specific concern) to fully understand a concern. Psychologists often see this initial assessment as the key to designing an informed, individualized, and focused treatment plan.
  • Psychologists also receive extensive training in research in order to ensure only treatments that have been studied by researchers and shown to work, are used.
  • Psychologists often have medical / healthcare backgrounds and work closely with physicians and other medical providers when biological interventions are incorporated into treatment (e.g., medications).
