Life can throw you a curve ball, often when you least expect it. Fortunately, an unexpected curve ball does not have lead to an automatic strike out. Whether it’s new curve ball or one you’ve faced numerous times before, there are opportunities to grow, develop new skills, and build resilience. My role is to provide you with a safe space to face your curve balls head on.
I’ve had several curve balls thrown my way—ranging from injuries to unexpected life transitions, which has helped me to develop my approach. I don’t believe in a one size fit all approach and work hand-in-hand with you to determine goals and apply a positive, strengths-based approach to accomplishing those goals. All therapeutic and assessment interventions incorporated in our time together are evidenced based and backed by research.
I have had the good fortune of working with people from numerous backgrounds and all different ages. My approach depends on the needs and goals of each individual; however, no matter the area of focus, I apply common ingredients of therapy such as working to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and empathy. I have individuals I have worked dealing with trauma achieve their goals through engaging in prolonged exposure therapy and STAIR. I have also seen changes in health outcomes guiding individuals through CBT for Insomnia and Exposure, Relaxation, and Rescripting Therapy for Nightmares. Additionally, I have seen individuals thrive with the application of solutions focused therapy and motivational interviewing to help with managing things like depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I have completed numerous assessments that include ADHD evaluations and evaluations for diagnostic clarification. I am trained to use a variety of different measures for different concerns and written plentiful evaluation reports. It would be a pleasure and honor to work with you!

I believe that difficulties in daily living are products of deep, unacknowledged psychological pain. I believe there’s healing from this as we make meaning of your experience.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative experience between clients and therapists, involving uncovering your experiences and learning how these thoughts and feelings impact your relationships. At times the process is straightforward as we work to develop practical strategies for managing the challenges of daily living. Yet the journey can also take unexpected turns as you learn truths about yourself and those in your life. We will use the information that we learn to tailor interventions unique to your situation. Psychotherapy can make use of all these events, increasing your ability to navigate the complexities of life and relationships, building your resilience and stability in the face of adversity, increasing your ability to manage and tolerate both joy and pain, and learning to experience more fulfilling relationships.
While I use psychodynamic theory to help us understand how your mind and emotions work, I also employ interventions using the following modalities: behavioral principles, mindfulness-based interventions, polyvagal-informed interventions, and existential thought. I use behavioral principles to help clients act and to identify aspects of the environment that promote or inhibit both helpful and unhelpful behaviors. Mindfulness-based interventions are used to enhance the ability to accept ourselves, encourage self-compassion, to identify how we respond to our environment, develop a more adaptive interaction with ourselves and our world, and to use stress-reducing strategies. Polyvagal-informed therapy helps clients to identify how the autonomic nervous system “remembers” our lived experience and informs us of safety or danger in the environment. This approach helps clients learn to manage their body’s response to stress in various forms. Finally, I use existential principles in the treatment of anxiety in all its forms. Existential forms of therapy help clients face life with courage, recognizing that they can survive what may come.
Whatever your situation, I can help you become more resilient, grounded, and stable. I will help you learn to better manage your emotions and experience more fulfilling relationships. Together, we will discover the truth of yourself; this journey takes courage, and I look forward to getting started with you.

When life feels overwhelming, it can seem like you're spending all your energy just trying to stay afloat. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful change.
With more than four years of clinical experience working with individuals across diverse backgrounds, ages, and life experiences, I am committed to helping clients build the skills and confidence needed to live more fulfilling lives. I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, adjustment to life transitions, stress management, grief and loss, identity concerns, OCD and phobias, addiction, and men's mental health concerns. I also support individuals and couples navigating relational concerns, communication challenges, and relationship difficulties.
I use evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), while tailoring treatment to your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I understand how difficult it can be to balance life's demands while managing emotional pain, and I believe that lasting growth happens when clients feel both supported and empowered.
My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a genuine belief in your capacity for growth and change. I strive to create a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment, and where we work collaboratively to understand your experiences, identify your goals, and build practical strategies for moving forward. Together, we can focus on developing resilience, navigating challenges, and creating meaningful, lasting change in your life.

Anxiety about the future—or even just getting through today—can feel overwhelming, whether the worries are big or small. Depression can pull you inward, leaving you feeling isolated and disconnected. Even simple questions like “are you okay?” can feel too heavy to answer, while your thoughts cycle endlessly without relief.
These experiences are real, and you don’t have to navigate them alone. While starting therapy can feel difficult, it can also be the first step toward meaningful, lasting change.
Dr. Ann Corell earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2007. In addition to her clinical work, she is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and has helped hundreds of individuals create sustainable health-related behavior change. This allows her to support clients not only emotionally, but also in the daily habits that impact overall well-being.
Her clinical approach is integrative and trauma-focused, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for growth and healing. Dr. Corell works collaboratively with clients, empowering them to become the hero in their own lives—equipping them with both insight and practical tools to create meaningful, lasting change.
She enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and is especially passionate about helping parents develop effective, practical skills to support children experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges. Her work draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), as well as person-centered and strength-based approaches. Trauma-informed techniques are thoughtfully integrated to meet each client’s unique needs.
The first session is an opportunity to share your story—your challenges, experiences, and goals—in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space. There is no pressure, just a chance to determine if this is the right fit. Therapy is a collaborative process, and she is here to support you every step of the way.
