Life can throw you a curve ball, often when you least expect it. Fortunately, an unexpected curve ball does not have lead to an automatic strike out. Whether it’s new curve ball or one you’ve faced numerous times before, there are opportunities to grow, develop new skills, and build resilience. My role is to provide you with a safe space to face your curve balls head on.
I’ve had several curve balls thrown my way—ranging from injuries to unexpected life transitions, which has helped me to develop my approach. I don’t believe in a one size fit all approach and work hand-in-hand with you to determine goals and apply a positive, strengths-based approach to accomplishing those goals. All therapeutic and assessment interventions incorporated in our time together are evidenced based and backed by research.
I have had the good fortune of working with people from numerous backgrounds and all different ages. My approach depends on the needs and goals of each individual; however, no matter the area of focus, I apply common ingredients of therapy such as working to establish a strong therapeutic alliance and empathy. I have individuals I have worked dealing with trauma achieve their goals through engaging in prolonged exposure therapy and STAIR. I have also seen changes in health outcomes guiding individuals through CBT for Insomnia and Exposure, Relaxation, and Rescripting Therapy for Nightmares. Additionally, I have seen individuals thrive with the application of solutions focused therapy and motivational interviewing to help with managing things like depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
I have completed numerous assessments that include ADHD evaluations and evaluations for diagnostic clarification. I am trained to use a variety of different measures for different concerns and written plentiful evaluation reports. It would be a pleasure and honor to work with you!
