Dr. Alexandria Burroughs

Sometimes life is hard, but suffering doesn’t have to last forever. I believe life’s challenges—no matter how painful—can also be powerful opportunities for growth. Whether you’re facing a long-standing struggle or a new, unexpected issue, there is hope. My role is to help you or your family navigate these moments with clarity and strength.

I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, working together with you to uncover and build on your existing resilience. In our work, I aim to foster hope and help you reconnect with what gives your life meaning. I use research-based assessments and evidence-based therapies tailored to your unique needs and goals.

I also have a passion for working with athletes and people of color. As someone who played competitive sports and navigated injury and identity as a minority, I understand the complex pressures that can arise. I offer a space that is practical, where mental wellness, identity, and performance can be explored safely without judgment.

I’ve been practicing as a licensed psychologist associate (LPA) and certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) in the state of Texas for the past two years at Texas Tech University and Texas A&M University, working with individuals, student athletes, and teams. I routinely help clients with concerns such as stress and life transitions, depression, anxiety, eating and body image concerns, parenting and relationship challenges, trauma, grief, and sport psychology issues including returning from injury, career transition, team and coach conflict, performance anxiety, and building confidence.

I am excited to be joining the team of other warm and compassionate Nowlogy doctors, who share a deep commitment to quality care and holistic healing. To learn more about the areas I support, please visit our Treatments page.
