Welcome! I’m Dr. Ruhee Laila Sutar, a Clinical Child Psychologist at Nowlogy. I work with children, teens, young adults, and families facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges—everything from autism and ADHD to anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, identity concerns, parenting stress, and big life changes. My goal is to create a space where you and your family feel supported, understood, and equipped with tools that actually work. I’m dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Potsdam and earned my Ph.D. in School Psychology from Fordham University, where I also completed specialized training in bilingual school psychology. My clinical training has taken me through nationally recognized institutions, including NYU Langone, the Child Mind Institute, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Before joining Nowlogy, I spent several years as a psychologist and faculty member at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University, where I served as Training Director for the Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Practicum and Externship Program, helped train developmental and behavioral pediatrics residents, and worked on initiatives focused on inclusion and equity in care. I remain passionate about teaching and mentoring and continue to support postdoctoral fellows in my current role at Nowlogy. My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in evidence. Whether I’m doing an evaluation, providing therapy, or supporting parents, I tailor everything to your family’s unique needs and values, drawing on a wide range of therapeutic techniques—all rooted in a deep understanding of neurodiversity and what helps individuals and families thrive. I aim to empower families with both knowledge and support, and I’m committed to making complex ideas accessible, practical, and meaningful.
I’m fluent in English and Hindi, conversational in Urdu, and have passed the New York State Bilingual Education Assessment in Hindi. I care deeply about offering inclusive, culturally responsive care, and ensuring that every family I work with feels seen and respected. I also enjoy sharing insights through community talks—on topics ranging from autism acceptance to stress management for parents—and have contributed to clinical newsletters within various institutions. I’m an active member of professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my mini Goldendoodle—and Nowlogy therapy support dog—Pluto, catching up with my family and friends, and experimenting in the kitchen. I bring curiosity, clarity, and compassion to every interaction, and my hope is to create a warm, welcoming partnership where you and your family feel supported every step of the way.
